Which dogs do not lose their hair

Living with a dog by your side is wonderful. Having a loving four-legged friend with you is something I wish for each of you. However, it is impossible to hide that the dog means also a lot of duties.

I especially feel it during home cleaning, when it’s time to vacuum. Then I just wonder which dogs do not lose their hair. My pet definitely doesn’t belong to this group.

When I decided to take pet under my care, I was fully aware of the responsibilities involved. Including the fact that dogs lose their hair, too. Some more, others less. Although this is not a big problem for me, it is still fully aware that this is a very important issue for some.

Therefore, instead of getting annoyed at the mere thought of constant vacuuming, it is worth choosing a breed of dog that loses relatively little hair. This is important not only for those who put the perfect cleanliness of the house first. Such a dog will also work if you are allergic.

Which dogs do not lose their hair at all – is it possible?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is no. This would be biologically impossible. Dog hair behaves like our human hair. Their prolapse is as natural as possible and we are unable to remedy it.

However, I would like to point out that some breeds of dogs are characterized by the fact that they shed to a lesser extent than others.

Moreover, there are also breeds in which the shed of hair even very severe. In addition, it is worth mentioning that some dogs without hair will need additional protection from the cold. Depending on the specificity of the breed, a dog sweaterjacket or hoodie for pooch can work.

Which dogs do not lose much hair – list of breeds

I present you breeds of dogs that lose really little hair. However, I want you to know that whether your dog will be intensively shed or not is also up to you.

Choosing one of the following breeds will not guarantee that problems with hair loss will not apply to your pet. Proper care of the dog’s hair plays an equally important role here, do not forget about it.

– yorkshire terrier

A characteristic feature of this breed is its small size and extremely charming appearance. Yorkshire really loses very little hair, especially if you care about your dog properly. Regular brushing and care is essential.

It is worth mentioning, however, that this is a breed, whose hair are constantly growing. Therefore, despite the fact that he does not lose his coat, it nevertheless requires constant visits to the groomer. You have to keep this in mind, taking care of this breed.

– poodle

Although it is a breed with extremely lush and effective hair, it is nevertheless included in the group of those that shed to a very moderate degree.

In the case of the breed, which is a poodle, the care of hair looks similar to that of Yorkshire. You need to cut your dog’s hair regularly, on average every about two – three months. However, if you want your house not to be full of hair, I think such a solution is worth it.

– basenji

This is a slightly different race than the two I mentioned earlier. Basenji belongs to the group of smooth-haired dogs. Moreover, dogs of this breed are characterized by the fact that they themselves take great care of their hygiene.

Therefore, maintaining cleanliness in the house with Basenji does not require a lot of work from you. First of all, you need to take care of the care and cleanliness of the pet.

– maltese

Maltese hair are somewhat similar to that of Yorkshire terriers. No less, however, the cover of this breed has a high tendency to tangle. Therefore, the basis in the care of this breed is very regular brushing.

Of course, as is the case with other breeds with hair, Maltese will also require regular visits to the groomer.

– mexican hairless dog

As the name suggests, dogs of this breed have negligee amounts of hair, they are almost completely hairless. However, despite the lack of hair, dogs of this breed require intensive care of their skin. Without protection in the form of hair, it is exposed to all kinds of injuries, direct action of external factors, such as, for example, the sun.

So, as you can see, the lack of hair does not cause the absence of problems associated with the intensive care of your four-legged.

– chinese crested dog

The appearance of dogs of this breed is very interesting. At the same time, they are characterized by a lack of hair on the parts of body as well as extremely lush hair on the paws, head and tail. This combination makes us count the Chinese Crested Dog among the dogs that do not lose their hair. Hair located on the previously mentioned parts of the dog’s body require regular haircut.

What to do to reduce hair loss

If you want your four-legged friend to lose as little hair as possible, you need to pay special attention to his care.

Healthy and shiny pet hair will be much less prone to prolapse. So what should you keep in mind?

– healthy diet

Undeniably, your dog’s daily diet has a huge impact on the condition of his hair. Deficiency of vitamins and trace elements affects not only its dull appearance. This can be the main reason for the increased prolapse of the dog’s hair.

If you are not able to provide your dog with all the necessary ingredients through a diet, you can support the supplements created for dogs. You can find out more about this from the article I refer you to HERE.

–  pet brushing

Even for dogs that lose little hair, regular brushing is essential. The prolapse of dead hair in dogs is normal, so it is better if we get rid of it during systematic brushing.

If your pet escapes at the very sight of the brush, then a good option are special gloves equipped with combing tabs. This is a very clever solution. It consists in the fact that when stroking the dog at the same time brush it.

– everyday care

The hair of your dog is also affected by how you take care of it. Care should be tailored to your pet’s hair type. Choosing the right cosmetics is very important. Also remember about regular baths – few more words about how to deal with dog bath you can find HERE. If you have doubts about how often you should bathe your pet, it is most reasonable to ask the veterinarian. He will indicate a rational schedule for the care of a dog in water.

The frequency of bathing depends on the breed of the dog, as well as, of course, whether your dog is a typical filth. My dog very often after a walk is so dirty that there is no other solution than an extra bath.

– haircut

Not every dog needs a haircut. However, if your pet’s hair need to be trimmed, then you have to remember about regularity. You can, of course, do it yourself. However, if your hairdressing skills leave much to be desired, get the help of a professional groomer – learn more about this profession HERE.

Regular haircut will help you reduce hair loss in the dog. Well-groomed, trimmed hair will not tangle. Moreover, its brushing will be much easier.

Now you know which dogs do not lose their hair

Just because a given breed won’t lose its hair doesn’t mean it’s going to require us to be less involved in hair care. On the contrary, very often such dogs are additional duties.

Namely, most dogs that do not lose their hair will require regular haircuts. This involves a large amount of extra time – either to cut the pet himself or to visit the groomer with him.

And what approach to dog’s hair at home do you have? Do you prefer to regularly take your pet for the groomer, or do you prefer to vacuum your hair systematically at home?
